The Derby Poverty Truth Commission was established to highlight the realities of poverty within the city of Derby and facilitate meaningful changes in the community. This initiative is part of a broader movement across various cities in the UK aimed at tackling poverty through personal accounts and community engagement. The commission holds conferences that enable charities, agencies, and individuals affected by poverty to share their stories and insights.
There were 2 film objectives. 1. Document the event for future reference, allowing stakeholders to revisit the discussions and experiences shared. 2. Create a concise promotional video that captures the event's highlights, showcasing the mission and work of the commission for use on social media and in presentations.
A complete video of the conference was produced, making the discussions and insights accessible to attendees and stakeholders who were unable to attend the event. - The promotional video effectively captured the spirit of the occasion, emphasising the significance of the Derby Poverty Truth Commission’s work. The video was widely shared on social media, raising awareness of the cause and encouraging community involvement.
This project not only contributed to the visibility of the Derby Poverty Truth Commission’s efforts but also underscored the importance of storytelling in addressing complex social issues. By capturing and sharing the voices of those affected by poverty, we were able to contribute to a larger dialogue aimed at fostering change and understanding within the community.
